Pets often pick up newly emerged fleas from their surroundings. Flea eggs can fall from the animal into bedding and carpets, where immature stages develop. Treating the pet alone can leave that household cycle in place, and fleas in the environment can bite people too.
Keep veterinary pet treatment and the agreed home treatment coordinated. If a pet product has not worked as expected, speak to your vet rather than increasing the dose or assuming resistance.
