Proofing is about stopping access to the living areas, not simply filling a visible hole. We examine the accessible route, explain the work and carry out the agreed proofing on the visit.
BEFORE WE ARRIVE
Clear the places you think mice may be using.
Areas such as a packed cupboard under the stairs, under-sink units and storage voids need to be accessible. Please clear enough space for us to inspect rather than expecting the technician to empty cupboards. That lets the appointment focus on fixing the route, rather than moving belongings.
THE APPROACH DEPENDS ON ACCESS
Proofing or an agreed baiting programme.
A suitable proofing job is normally planned as one visit to seal the accessible entry routes to living areas. Where baiting is the appropriate approach, our programme uses three visits. We discuss which service fits your property and agree its total price before proceeding.
A PRACTICAL TRAP TIP
Why we use gloves around traps.
Gloves help protect the person handling a trap and keep handling hygienic. A trap left untouched does not necessarily mean a rodent detected your scent: its position, bait, competing food and caution around new objects all matter.
A useful domestic-trap tip: use a small amount of a suitable bait, such as peanut butter, following the trap manufacturer’s instructions. Keep traps out of reach of children and pets. Clean used traps according to the manufacturer’s guidance, away from food-preparation equipment.
